Scattering and Restoration

1 Nephi
7 7 And it meaneth that the time cometh that after all the house of Israel have been scattered and confounded, that the Lord God will raise up a mighty nation among the aGentiles•, yea, even upon the face of this land; and by them shall our seed be bscattered•.
8 8 And after our seed is scattered the Lord God will proceed to do a amarvelous• work among the bGentiles•, which shall be of great cworth• unto our seed; wherefore, it is likened unto their being nourished by the dGentiles and being carried in their arms and upon their shoulders.
9 9 And it shall also be of aworth• unto the Gentiles; and not only unto the Gentiles but bunto• all the chouse• of Israel, unto the making known of the dcovenants• of the Father of heaven unto Abraham, saying: In thy eseed shall all the kindreds of the earth be fblessed•.

So the entire house of Israel will be scattered and confounded, the God will raise up a mighty nation, the United States, which will then scatter the seed of Nephi and his brother Laman or, in other words, the American Indian. So did the "white man" do the will of God in scattering the "red man"? Or did they just do their own will which was known in advance by God?

Then after the scattering, the restoration of the Gospel to the Prophet Joseph Smith, the important information of which is knowing the covenants of the Father of heaven unto Abraham, namely In thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

I have often considered different arguments regarding the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. The most convincing argument, though, is the feeling I had while praying about its truthfulness. At the end of the Book of Mormon is a promise given to all who read the Book of Mormon. “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost” (Moroni 10:4). I prayed about the Book of Mormon and I know that it is true. There is no witness stronger than that of the Spirit.
